I happened to be here during the last summer with my family. We booked ourselves a three bedded deluxe room in Hill view Resorts. The rooms are embellished with contemporary interiors, the windows of which opened to wide panoramic view of the Ramnagiri Hills or the Sholay Hills. All three of us just loved the ambience of the place that is characterized by serenity and seclusion. It was just one night and two days stay and so we made no wastage of time and soon fled to the reception chucking our luggage inside the room. The sprawling and vibrant garden in front of the reception called for some candid snaps for Shonu, my daughter, striking different poses around the water fountain installed amidst the garden. Lest it got late, we soon arranged for a jeep (with the help of resort’s management) that would take us through the jungles, rocky terrains and the rustic camps along the Cauvery. We booked the jeep for two days to visit all nearby tourist attractions and explore the nature’s splendor.
Arpita, my wife, intended on driving through the rocky terrains first which happened to be the Gabbar Singh’s refuge. So we embarked on it.
The place is just behind the resort which took not more than 10 minutes to reach there. Through undulating roads, we reached the mango orchard from where Basanti ones picked mangoes to relish along with Veeru. Nostalgia runs through the nerves and one soon gets soaked into the flashbacks of the film. But we were not as lucky as Basanti since we happened to visit the place in winter when the trees do not bore mangoes. Next, we headed towards Gabbar’s den. It was winter and we could see several gangs of students, expats and professionals crowded the place for picnic. Gabbar’s place entertained many picnickers and visitors with a deluge of charm and fascination. Shonu had great time playing around the big boulders and rock formations. I tried some hands on rock climbing while Arpita kept herself busy taking snaps for all of us.

Soon the sun shone over our head and it was time for lunch. Butterflies flew inside our empty stomach and we drove back to the resort. The dining room was engrossed with several scrumptious dishes which further provoked our hunger cravings. One by one we tasted all items that sizzled on the buffet counter and addressed our appetite. A walk after the delectable lunch along the walk ways of the resort made a worthwhile. While our kid played around the rock formations inside the resort’s campus, Arpita and I thought of lying on the sunbathing chairs kept beside the swimming pool. After half an hour of time, we thought of exploring some more and so we decided to visit some fishing camps.
“Bhimeswari and Doddamakalli are the two best places for fishing and bird watching”, suggested our driver. Trailing through the banks of Cauvery, we arrived at the spectacular Bhimeswari Fishing Camp. This fishing camp lures people from distant and nearby places for adventure sporting and bird watching. Exotic wildlife accredited by elephants, deer, crocodiles, snakes and turtles are further accompanied by a large number of varied species of birds that fly down from disparate regions of the world.  Thus bird watching along with kayaking, rope walking, zip lining are common activities here. But the major attraction that counts for the huge tourist influx is the Mahseer- the largest tropical gamefish known to mankind. The visit was enchanting and the adventures triggered some adrenalin rush throughout my body. We tried on Kayaking and both my daughter and wife enjoyed it a lot. While Arpita opted to linger around with Shonu to explore the rustic beauty of the place, I went for rope walking and zip lining as well. Soon dawn set upon us and the driver suggested returning back to resort so as to escape being the victims of the wild denizens. We went back planning to return

Back to the resort and we were all exhausted and wanted to rejuvenate and revitalize. What could have been the better option than the spa treatment? All of us decided to get a dip into the warm Jacuzzi. A steam bath and a warm dip along with body message from expert fingers left us revitalized for the next day. A quick dinner and then all tucked to bed.
Morning was filled with thrills as we were yet to explore another fishing camp- Doddamakalli. We did not make any wastage of time and hurried up for the next expedition. Our driver took us to the rugged, remote place perfect synonym of rustic manifestation of nature’s bounty. The place was alluring as the water of Cauvery just flowed serenely by an inch of our feet. Ohh!! The charm of this place is unexplainable. Small huts and camps dotted the area to accommodate visitors from all walks of life. Inhibited by innate denizens like leopard, wild boar, elephants, sambar, jackals, spotted deer and the endangered grizzled gaint squirrel this place is an exquisite wildlife location.its a paradise for bird watchers too as around 200 species of bird migrate here during winters in the northern hemisphere.
We went busy in exploring the place .Set out for kayaking ones more on shonus demand and enjoyed the mystic cauvery flowing by.Though I wasnt lucky enough to get one Mahseer bur still tried my hands on angling along with Arpita

We went back to our resort by the lunchtime. Had lunch and strolled around for sometime more and then it was time to check out. Though checked out of the resort but the memories had made its permanent residence in our minds. Would love to come back again and explore the unexplored trails of Ramnagaram.
